  1. Where do I even start?! First of all Dewa picked our big group up from the airport, we had to split and take a taxi cause all of us and our bags couldn’t fit in one car. He pulled over to make sure the other taxi caught up to him and proceeded. We got to the house and were welcomed by two dogs!!! One was a husky around 10 years old so he was very mellow but they had a 6 month old puppy and she was so sweet. She was probably one of the hardest things to say goodbye to. I purposely stayed on the first floor to be closest to the dogs! The house was breathtakingly beautiful and the view is just astounding. The place is gigantic and I actually got lost the first time looking around at it. As soon as we got there Diu made a fantastic Balinese meal for us that was absolutely delicious (all her cooking was throughout the trip). The next morning, she made us eggs, bacon, pancakes, fresh fruit, toast, etc. My family was a huge fan. We mentioned renting a vehicle and Dewa said that we could all cram in his car to save money and he would gladly take us around. So sweet! He was a great guide and took us anywhere we wanted to go including some really great restaurants. He was very patient with us and didn’t make us feel rushed at all when taking our time at temples and such. The house again was far above my expectations. Squeaky clean, beautiful view, they had charger adapters for you to use, bug spray and sunscreen as well. One night we ordered food to be delivered. Diu called and Dewa ended up going out and picking it up for us, again they were the best hosts. All of us would absolutely stay again, they were so welcoming, the house and the location were beautiful, everything about the stay exceeded our expectations.

  2. The villa is in a Country house style with three main rooms each connected to one children’s (one with a bunk bed and two with doubles) room, each with a toilet in the middle. The ground floor is occupied by the staff on one side and two connected rooms on the other. The ground floor master has a garden view. The first floor is where the kitchen, a public toilet and two interconnected rooms are located. There is also a massive living room, a patio with daybed gazebo, sun lounges and a pool, with beautiful flowers overlooking a spectacular view downhill. The Second / top floor has again two interconnected room, with a master room and a balcony with a beautiful panoramic view. All the rooms are air conditioned and very clean. The entire space is airy, with beautiful flowers and trees. I would say it has a country/ rustic feel to it with exotic paintings, decoration and wooden furnishings. The place is on the overall immaculately clean. Even the bathrooms smell nice. The area is secure and in a peaceful neighborhood with villas around . You would definitely need a car to get anywhere. But then there is a driver and car included, which is awesome. Filtered/ distilled water dispensed from the fridge was available all through our stay. The Staff is what makes the stay an excellent one. They speak perfect English and are always around to give great recommendations. I felt safe despite the quiet location. There is also a very gentle husky Jimmy staying at the ground floor who is patient with kids. Dayu is an excellent cook, spot on with portions, taste and certainly cooked some of our best meals in Bali. Everything was hot when served. I would strongly recommend dining in the villa over beachside places. The snapper, prawns, grilled corn and satay are to die for. Having a cook also helps much with the preparation of fresh Baby food as we had a one year old with us. We had Breakfast daily in the villa and I think more than half of our meals. Dewa is also the best driver. He drove extra safe with baby, but he can sense when we are in a hurry. He really is very patient, cheerful and gentle to us. As a reference, the closest shops are 5-8 mins drive away, Jimbaran& Uluwatu around 15-20 mins, and depending on traffic, 45min-1hr to seminyak. The villa is cleaned daily and the sheets and towels are changed regularly. Laundry and in villa massages are available. This place is very good for small kids: Stair barriers, cot, high chair, baby car seat, pool gates… you may need your own bathtub though. Lastly, Peter was always just a text away. I feel very safe esp when I’m traveling with a family of three generations. Strongly recommended for family with small children seeking a relaxing holiday.

  3. Absolutely perfect! Without sounding like everyone else beforehand, this is truly a magnificent place. Peter was super helpful and quick to reply, the house itself is just as described (spacious, clean, very comfortable, amazing pool) but the real highlight indeed are Dewa and Diu, who are on site and are just the friendliest. Always smiling, nothing is too hard and very good at maintaining this beautiful house. Dewa gave us tips to local places and was always on time to pick us up as requested. Diu is the most amazing cook (just have the BBQ that everyone describes – we didn’t end up eating out), and helped organise massages on site. This was an amazing stay for us! Dewa is a great driver, but if you have a large group and need to get a taxi/Grab, sometimes the local drivers needed a bit of help as the villa is on a quiet street (ask Dewa/Diu to help with ordering ahead of time/giving directions). Absolutely recommend this place!

  4. Peter’s place is fantastic, exactly as described. The house is huge, amazing pool overlooking a great view, massage room downstairs, rooms are very large and bathroom is great! The stand out being the staff at the house, the food alone is worth staying and the ability to have a driver when and wherever you need is brilliant! I would more than happily stay here again.

  5. Exceptional views, great people in Dewa and Dayu – be rest assured of being taken well care of and enjoying a great holiday. The pool was the highlight and the gazebo outside was our favourite sunrise and sunset spot. Dayu is very resourceful – arranged the masseuses and the manicure ladies at very reasonable prices. Dewa would guide us with local tips and rescued us when we got lost in the winding roads of Uluwatu. The location is perfect – away from the crowds, very peaceful. The rooms are big and spacious. The food that dayu cooks is to die for.

  6. We have just returned from a trip of a lifetime, largely thanks to the accommodations and staff of this villa. The house, pool, lounges, etc. leave nothing to be desired but as most reviews mention, it’s Diu and Dewa that make this the best choice on the island. We met far away family here and the care, cooking, laundry, advice, driving and all around attention to detail provided by Diu and Dewa allowed us to truly enjoy our quality time with our children and far away family. We didn’t worry about a thing as she handled all meals in house if we were staying in (ribs, prawns, snapper, fried rice, satay, breakfast – all to die for) and if going out Dewa provided excellent recommendations and let us know what was and wasn’t possible in the timeframes we had. The house was perfect for us, allowing us to spread out and have all the bathrooms needed to get ready all at the same time. The beds were very comfortable and the living spaces were great for multiple activities at one time. And then there are the views. From the pool, the upper floor, the master balcony…they are just amazing. The pool is deep throughout and was hands down the the kids favorite thing. They enjoyed being able to jump in from any side and not worry but if have non-swimmers be sure to bring a puddle-jumper as there is no shallow end. Peter was extremely responsive and helpful (take his advice on Sundara – AMAZING!). He truly has a gem of a setup here and he and his staff are excellent hosts. If you are like me and are debating between resort and villa and then which villa, do yourself a favor and just book this one. You won’t regret it!

  7. We had an amazing stay at the villa. We were about 15 of us and stayed for a week. The villa is tvery spacious and comes with all amenities. But the best part is the hospitality we experienced in the able hands of Dewa & Dayu who are a wonderful & committed couple and will surely take good care of you. Dayu is a wonderful cook, and we urge you not to miss her legendary pork ribs (which we had her make thrice in our week long stay) and the sea food BBQ which was like a feast. They also managed to stock up on Bintang a day before our arrival, which ensured that we had some cold beers as soon as we arrived at the villa. Working with them for the groceries was a breeze since Dayu would pick up anything we need and we paid her after she got the groceries. The pool is really nice with a wonderful view of the skyline where you can see the flights landing and take off. You can also call for massage at the villa (highly recommended) and its very affordable. The fact that we had a 7 seater with Dewa as the driver, at our disposal, made it very convenient to move around. The location of the villa is a bit in the interior but the car makes up for it. Make sure you take Dewa’s number and the exact (Hidden by Airbnb) location in case you are stepping out on your own. Overall, it was a wonderful holiday made amazing by the Dewa & Dayu who took really good care of us

  8. We lived in the villa for 4 days. It’s a good experience. The staffs are very nice and help us a lot. There are two cute dogs in the villa. The BBQ and breakfast are delicious. It’s a little hard to find the place. Better contact the staff before you come here.

  9. Beautiful home perched on a hill with amazing views; a perfect place for some rest and relaxation. The staff is amazing and as sweet as they come!!! Having a knowledge driver to show us around relieved the stress of having to figure it out on our own and having home cooked meals after weeks of traveling made it hard to leave. Peter is responsive, kind and accommodating. Highly recommended! We hope to visit again someday.

  10. A lovely villa perched on top of a hill with fantastic panoramic views. The pool is great, nice and deep with shade available under the bali hut. Dewa was so accommodating, driving us anywhere at the drop of a hat and always with a smile. Dui kept us well fed, she is a great cook and gave 2 of our party cooking lessons. The snapper was a favourite along with the satay sticks. It was an extremely peaceful neighbourhood and suited our group of 5 ladies. It did take quite a bit of time to get to Kuta, Legian and Seminyak- the massive roadworks didn’t help. A very spacious villa with bedrooms for everyone, we spent most of our time outside in the pool area. If you like peace and quiet and being fed well inhouse this is the villa for you. Also loved that Diu organised massages, facials and manicure all in the comfort of the villa- we loved that service.

  11. Our party of 12 had such a relaxing and wonderful stay. The house is perfection and the caretakers are so helpful and kind. We really did not want to leave. I hope to return again someday. Please let Diu cook you amazing BBQ. Check out Geger beach. Just relax at the house pool and enjoy the beautiful views!

  12. This is a great value. The villa can house a lot of people and has a great view. It is somewhat hard to get to and the location in the description was not very helpful. I’m sure that will be updated though. The host was very responsive and helpful throughout the stay the staff are great and extremely attentive. We had to keep the driver very busy and he was very kind about it.

  13. Great place, beautiful staff, our group couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Very much recommend taking them up on there BBQ offer

  14. It’s wonderful trip! The villa is very big! It has enough space for 11 people. The swimming pool is great and beautiful. The house keepers are very nice and they can cook excellence food. We all enjoy staying in the villa. Highly recommended!!

  15. We just got back from a great 3 day stay at Peter’s place. Peter and his staff did a great job accommodating our group of 10 guests including transportation to and from the airport, meal and snack requests, and a birthday cake surprise. Peter’s staff were friendly and welcoming….plus great cooks! We recommend staying in for meals as restaurants are far and the food tasted great at the villa! The outdoor space was what we were looking for as we wanted to spend time together and not necessarily out exploring Bali since we had all been there before. I have been coming to Bali for 5 years and this is one of the only villas I would recommend coming back too especially as a large group or with an extended family. Worth a visit!

  16. We have just had the most amazing holiday at villa Rama Rama with three generations of our family meeting halfway(ish) between the UK and New Zealand. We were 11 people in total with four children – three 3 year olds and one 6yrs and grandparents – and the space inside and out was just fantastic for all. The pool is great with nice relaxing outside space and the views are amazing from high up on the hill overlooking the sea and it is less humid being higher up. The bedrooms are very comfortable with air conditioning and with two rooms on each floor it works out brilliantly for the different generations to have their own space and bathrooms! But probably the best thing about the villa is the wonderful Dewa and dayu – a couple who look after you while you stay. Dewa picked us up from the airport and basically drove us wherever we wanted to go during our stay, we just paid for the petrol. He had excellent suggestions for day trips and waits for you during a visit to be there when you are ready to come back to the villa. The wonderful Dayu prepared our meals whenever we wanted to eat and we just paid for the food shopping which she also does and then provides the receipts. Dayu is the most amazing cook and everything she prepared for us was delicious, especially the BBQ ribs and fish and fish curries she made. She would also cook pasta or other meals for the children earlier if asked. She also did the washing up and also washed and ironed our laundry which weren’t expecting. This made it a perfect restful holiday not having to shop, cook and do any washing. There is also a spa room downstairs and beauticians come in to give a massage or other treatments when we booked, often at short notice. Finally, the owner Peter was very helpful and responsive in advance and during the trip with any questions about the villa or our trip. I thoroughly recommend this villa which is just perfect for a family holiday in a wonderful villa and we were so looked after by Dewa and dayu – we wanted to take them home with us but Peter told us not to steal them!

  17. We had 13 people in our group, and the villa was perfect for us! We loved the space, the view, and pool, and most importantly the staff, Dewa and Daiyu…they were the highlight of the villa. They kept the villa spotless, made our beds everyday, helped with laundry and a hundred other things to make our stay comfortable. They were cheerful, helpful, and warm. Daiyu helped us arrange a spa and message session at the villa, and also a snorkeling trip to Lembongan, which was amazing (make sure to take sea sickness meds though, if you are proned to motion sickness). And Dewa drove us around to the mall, to Carrefour, to Nusa Dua, to Ubud…wherever and whenever we needed to go, and he was always willing wait for us. Truly great hosts, they were. And now the most important part…Daiyu’s cooking! It was absolutely delicious. Much much much better than any restaurants we went to, and it was cheaper too. In the end we happily gave up going out, and just asked her to cook all our meals. Her barbecue ribs are a must have. Juicy and fall of the bone. And for one meal, we also got to racks of suckling pig ribs (mistake them for lamb chops), and she roasted them in the oven. It was heavenly. Also must has are her beans+bean sprouts, satays (we had fish and chicken), and her currey/Balinese soup with fish or chicken. So flavorful and spicy! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. One thing to note is if you are used to eating lots of veggies, make sure you ask her specifically to make more than one dish of veggies, and specify how much. By the third meal, she was able to make enough veggies for us. But other than that, her meal portions were generous, but pretty spot on, with only a little leftover. Daiyu did some of the food shopping, and we also went to Carrefour and the local farmers market and fish market and bought food back for her to cook. IMPORTANT! When shopping in the local markets, make sure you are really careful. Only hand over the right amount of money as they hand over the bags of groceries. Someone at the fish market tried to make us pay twice by claiming we haven’t paid him, when he was already paid and had given back the change. In the end, we were able to get another shopkeeper involved to help translate and sort out the matter, thankfully. All in all, we thought the villa was a real steal. Spacious, comfortable and relaxing, has a great view, amazing staff, and prob some of the best food in Bali (we found out later Daiyu used to cook for a hotel). Slight downside…the villa is kind off from the main road, and the roads leading up to the area where the villa is were pretty poorly maintained. Expect 30+ min drive to go anywhere worth going. Having Dewa…

  18. We have a family of 7 people to stay 3 nights in this villa. The villa has a great view because it is located on the hill. The drawback is only hard to find this villa and the road outside is not good for driving. If you stay in this villa, you have to try their BBQ service. It is delicious and value for your money. The staff are very kind and nice people. The villa provides free car service. If you go to Bali, don’t miss this villa. Oh, I have to say the house owner is a rich guy! I want to be your friend O(∩_∩)O!

  19. This has to be one of the best villas I’ve stayed in. Peter kept great communication with me and I couldn’t have asked for a better host. The house exceeded our expectations and I’m not sure what I’d do without Dewa and Diu who kept us safe, fed and were just so incredibly accommodating. I now know why other guest would want to steal them. I can’t wait to return to this property and recommend it to all.

  20. We booked this villa on recommendation from other friends and we are so glad we did. We had 3 families, 6 adults and 5 children. We were greeted by Dawa (our driver) at the airport and everything from our arrival was smooth sailing. Dewa’s wife Diu had arranged for beers to be chilled in the fridge, the filtered water was all bottled and plumbed directly into the fridge.

We utilised all 6 bedrooms which were all cleaned daily, washing and ironing (including underwear!) were laid out on the bed for us every day. We had most of our meals in the villa and Diu cooked separate meals for the children, the seafood and curry banquet was amazing, Diu can cook anything you require. Breakfast was always ready and waiting when we woke. Dewa drove us out to Seminyak and Kuta (a bit of a drive to be honest) and waited patiently for us to return, even in the evening.

Diu is so experienced with kids and would happily feed, bath and put the kids to bed, and watch them at night when we all the adults ventured out for dinner. There is a spa room in which massage therapist come when you request, at $15 AUD this was amazing.

The pool is huge and we spent hours with the kids swimming around, there is two pool fences which put my mind at ease, however be mindful there is quite a big drop over the edge at one side of the pool, it would be hard to fall over as there is quite a bit of space between the pool and the drop, unless someone was being careless or kids were playing over that side unsupervised. There are gates at the top and bottom of the stairs, however they are quite steep and I probably wouldn’t recommend families with kids under 2 stay on the top floor.

Overall it was a brilliant stay and we are going back for two weeks in March, some people may be put off by the location as it is quite a drive into Seminyak and Kuta, however this suited us as the views from the villa were amazing and we enjoyed the laid back feel up in the hills, and it was not an issue for Dewa to drive us anywhere we wanted.

  21. Highly recommended. Been there with girlfriends. Gorgeous views, comfortable, homely with excellent housekeeper/chef (Dayu) who cooks meal that are out of this world The driver Dewa is resourceful and takes us around wherever we want to go.

At the end of the trip my friends and I are blessed to have experience the home away from home. We will return, hopefully this time with our love ones.

  22. Villa Rama Rama turned out to be the perfect place to stay for our recent holiday and first trip to Bali. We were a group of 3 couples each with 2 young kids; so 6 adults and 6 kids (1-4yo). We stayed 8 nights in early June. This villa was a lucky find online. 6 bedrooms and being kid safe is a big ask in Bali. Upon arrival (after midnight) we were blown away by the size of the place, the friendly staff and, of course, that amazing view. Earlier that day Peter had sent a text asking if I wanted Dewa (the driver) to head out early for a carton of Bintang to ensure it is cold when we arrived! “Yes Peter, yes!”.

The layout of the villa was perfect for us. By day we lived on the middle level, either in the pool or the main lounge and dining area. For sleeping it was great, as with two bedrooms on each floor we had one family per floor and the parents could be near enough (but also far enough!) to their own children at night. All of the bedrooms are air conditioned which was needed for the kids’ day sleeps especially.

By night, once the kids were in bed, the adults were out to the cabana/gazebo at the pool, with the odd night swim. Having a drink, or playing games, the hours would slip away. To be able to spend your evenings in such away – no cleaning up after dinner – was relaxing in a way all parents crave. The villa is kid safe. Plenty of gates and doors covering stairs and pool. The pool is deep and there is no shallow end. The husbands could stand up, but the wives were too short. That means it is steps, jacuzzi or floaties for those who don’t swim. Happily our kids all became quickly confident to swim about in their floaties with us nearby.

The location is peaceful. It is tranquil watching the waves in the bays and the planes at the airport. You won’t be walking anywhere apart from for a stroll, but Dewa will happily take you anywhere or head out himself for beer, pizza etc. nothing was too much trouble. The car is spotless and comfortable. In fact, all 12 of us would squeeze in together to get anywhere! I think Dewa was secretly proud to beat his old record of 9 passengers. It always felt safe in the car, even with kids on laps. But the isolated location pays off well and truly.

Being in the mountains it is many degrees cooler than down at any of the towns or beaches we went too. Apart from when the sun really hits in the morning, the breeze means the villa is always pleasant. We weren’t troubled by mosquitos. And the view from the villa, the pool and the top floor is just divine. We had one sunrise with no clouds and could see all of the mountainous volcanoes. It was amazing.

Lastly, but by no means least, the staff were perfect. Most of the time you could forget they were there, but as soon as you popped your head downstairs, nothing was too much trouble. We had Daiyu cook quite a few lunches and dinners in the villa. Food was delicious. At times she would even make separate kid and adult dishes for a meal. One night we had a kids party and she made them cheeseburgers, chips and jelly (agar)! The money we would put in for groceries etc went much further than we expected. But the staff earn their accolades by being so nice. Nice to the adults, and amazing with the kids. One night late in the trip we left all the kids home in bed and all 6 adults went out for dinner and drinks. Upon return were 6 sleeping kids, and a surprisingly relaxed looking Daiyu telling us how when a third child woke up earlier, she already had one child in each arm! Nonetheless, it was all fine. Another staff member was helping out for our trip, a younger cousin of Daiyu (I think). She did Bali massage too and so massage was always available in the spa downstairs. I’ve been trying but still can’t get my breakfast pancakes as fluffy as Daiyu’s, much to the disappointment of my children. Dewa made great recommendations for shopping and restaurants, and more than once would see us paying too much in the shops (usually for alcohol) and then come in and save the day! We have already started talking about coming back to the villa in a few years.

Peter, thank you for the great experience, for your pleasant manner during booking, and of course for having that first carton of beer cold and ready to go! We hope to see Dewa and Daiyu again another time. Regards Chris

We had the most amazing holiday at Villa Rama Rama. Dewa and Dayu are the most attentive staff, they truly make you feel like royalty. We appreciate all they did for us and hopefully we can return to Bali and stay at Villa Rama Rama again. I would recommend it to all my friends.

  24. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

  25. I cannot speak highly enough of Villa Rama Rama! We (five adults and two small children) spent a week there and it was pure paradise. My partner and I usually stay in luxury hotels when we travel and that luxury was mirrored in this villa. Set in the most beautiful surroundings, in a quiet, undisturbed location with the most breathtaking views of Bali, we couldn’t have asked for more. The couple that work at the villa leave you wanting for nothing, driving you to wherever you wish to explore and cooking the most mouthwatering authentic local food, and even looking after and playing with the small children. The villa is spacious, set across three three floors and is ideal for families or groups, as you have plenty of space to relax together and independently. We even indulged in the spa room located in the garden of the villa where you can have hour long full body massages, for incredibly reasonable prices, so reasonable hat we indulged more than once during our stay.

Could not recommend this piece of paradise any higher, and cannot wait to return myself!!

  26. Amazing space and great staff

We had a great holiday with sons daughters and Grand children. So much room everyone had their own space. The weather was lovely and the breeze at the top of the hill keeps the garden and house cool. View and sunset over Jimberan bay are lovely.
The best thing is the staff. They are so helpful and attentive. Diu is a great cook and Dewa knows everywhere to go.
Only downside is the road up to it is very bumpy and would not be great for anyone who gets travel sick easily. We didn’t have a problem though even with 4 very young children.

  27. Awesome
I truly loved it our driver, Denwa and his wife Daiu cook. I felt like a queen. They took care of my every need I came for a yoga retreat for 1 week , I already want to go back!

  29. Awesome stay, couldn’t be better
Great place to stay, everything is modern enough. Best part were Dewa and Dayu who were the driver and maid/cook respectively. Both extremely friendly and able to help out our large group (plus 2 babies).Dayu’s cooking was absolutely amazing, so much so that after a couple of meals eating out we preferred her cooking instead and asked her to make more meals for us!

Only downside was the shocking wifi signal, that needs to be fixed. But you’re on holidays, and the pool’s great, so can’t complain too much.

  30. Joy oh Joy
From the moment we were picked up by Dewa until he delivered us to our next destination, our time at this villa was amazing. Such a warm and welcoming couple who looked after us with kindness and patience. Dewa spent many hours driving us all over the “Bukit” and Deyu did a superb job feeding us delicious meals. Each day Deyu would scoot off to the market and we only needed to pay for produce. We can highly recommend the astounding Seafood BBQ !
The villa is beautifully maintained with very generous bedrooms, huge bathrooms and – oh that pool ! What a view – straight towards the airport on one side and the harbour on the other. Imagine – lolling in an infiniti pool watching the world fly in and out – without a care in the world !!! pure heaven.
Then – there is the Spa ! Just a phone call away, you can relax and enjoy a massage in the purpose built Spa Room, complete with waterfall, music & couches.
We can highly recommend this beautiful butterfly villa to anyone looking for a quiet retreat on top of the world.

  31. Amazing property with brilliant staff

We had the most wonderful time at Villa Rama Rama. We were 2 families (1 family with 2 children aged 7 & 9 and the other family with 3 children aged 6, 4 & 1) and the villa was perfect for us!!

We travelled from England and our friends from NZ – the villa was huge, and very baby/toddler friendly. There was enough space not to get on top of each other and Dee and Dewa were amazing. What a treat to have EVERY meal catered – we felt thoroughly spoilt – in fact it was such a luxury to have Dee cook all our food (and clear it all up) it’s going to be hard to beat!! The food was all delicious

I don’t normally get holiday blues, but when it came time to leave I really wasn’t ready and am still thinking about the great time we had with our friends at Villa Rama Rama!! It worked really well with young children, it’s not particularly close to a town/restaurants but that wasn’t a problem for us!!

Don’t be put off by arriving up an off beaten track – the villa is beautiful and Dee and Dewa are great staff (and not at all intrusive) and all in all it was a holiday that’s created lovely memories.

  33. Loved every minute
I don’t write reviews, but this one I had to, when we arrived in the night we were greeted by two amazing people who made our stay home from home I have never been made so welcome as I was in villa ramarama, The villa is huge you don’t get on top of each other, Dee is a amazing cook and Dewa went beyond and further to drive to where we wanted. I really loved this place my daughter came from Oz to get married in another villa and I couldn’t wait to get back to this one afterwards, you may not be in the centre but the plus with this you have a relaxing holiday and actually enjoy your family and friends the views were amazing as was the sunrise from the villa the pool was pristine and we were looked after so well I cannot praise them enough, our daughter left to go back to Oz and we left for the UK, we left feeling very privileged to be able to rent this place and staff, we met as strangers and left as friends we will return all being well and hope to repeat the experience.
Thank you DEE and DEWA we love you both and miss you from Mimi and Richard Joshua and Emily, Jacob, Elizabeth and Ryan and Baby Isabella and Brooke

  34. Delicious family chaotic holiday in dream accommodation

WWW- triple wow!! What a fabulous place to stay with our family. Husband children and partners plus 3 grandchildren arrived early morning and felt at home immediately. This villa is so comfortable and the staff, Daewa and Dieu made sure our entire stay was enjoyable. The location is way off the main roads and away from the bustle of shops (if you want shops and ready access to restaurants then this isn’t going to be for you). It gave us all the opportunity to have quality time and the grandchildren thrived in our company and we had time to listen to each other. Mornings saw hubby and me with the 2 grandsons watching the sun rise and considering ourselves very lucky.

Delicious meals are prepared with what seems a minimum of fuss. The seafood BBQ dinners were amazing as were the cooked breakfasts and not having to wash up was a bonus.

The housekeeper does the food shopping which we paid for. Everything about this villa is generous – rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, living area, huge open windows and outside pool area. Even with 11 of us, there was still space so it works well with big groups.

The view from the infinity pool is stunning and we watched the arrival of the Queen Mary 2 early morning and the young ones loved watching the planes in and out of the airport.

There is a massage room downstairs that the house organises as requested.

Kids are looked after as needed by the housekeeper who loves babies. Pickup from and delivery to airport is part of the deal, and the car is available with driver as needed. Petrol was our responsibility and tips paid to him.

This is a place to really unwind and chill out. Loved it and highly recommend.

  35. “Awesome place to stay”

We all just wanted to let you know that we had the best stay and all came back thoroughly relaxed. Dewa and Dayu are absolutely wonderful and looked after us superbly. I can’t rate them highly enough. The villa is beautiful and very comfortable – so much so, that we are looking into coming back next year

  36. Awesome place and awesome stay

We stayed in this beautiful and authentic Balinese villa and we all agree we could not have found a better place to stay to spend our holiday together.

From the day we arrived we were welcomed by Dayu and Dewa who took great care of us the entire week! Their service was excellent and after a few days they already felt like family. We are so happy to have had the chance to spend our holiday with these wonderful people! We only feel gratitude towards them.

Dewa drove us everywhere around Bali in a luxury SUV ( a Toyota Fortuner ) which was included in the rental and he was very helpful to point out all the beautiful spots. Dayu cooked us delicious meals and I must recommend everyone who ever books this villa to try the mixed seafood barbeque. For sure five star quality and more! I still get water in my mouth when I think about her delicious meals! Dewa was also available to go buy the necessary bottles of wine:-) We consumed quite a few…

The villa is set on top of a hill offering splendid views over Bali. Simply breathtaking! What made the villa really special and unique is the little bale on the terrace aside the pool. We all gathered here every evening to have drinks, to talk and to laugh. You can see all the lights in the distance and the wind gives that breeze of freedom. Some nights we sat here until sunrise! Can you imagine?

This villa is ideally situated close to Balangan beach. Dewa will take you there with the SUV. Balangan beach offers white sand and blue ocean 5 minutes away from the villa. True bliss! You can find sun loungers and many local restaurants to have a splendid day out. Sunbathing and surfing is what you get.

New Kuta Golf is also 5 minutes drive away and you must try the 18 holes! We had a blast.

To summarize it all: great location, great villa, great rooms, great service and great facilities.

We already look forward to come back next time!

  37. Villa with heart

Huge villa, great view, pool & rooms. But staff are what make your stay, delicious home cooked food, great driving & service from this lovely couple, nothing was too much for them. We wanted to bring them home! A great place for a family or a group travelling together, is very much set up to welcome kids. Our 2 year old had the best time & was well looked after. Would love to stay here again.

  38. Fantastic, awesome relaxing experience…tops

    Dear Peter,

I and our crew have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa RamaRama
for the last week while here in Bali.
Dewa has been fantastic in overseeing our stay and guiding us around
each day to various excursions.
Diu’s hospitality has been professional, friendly and understanding
as she allowed our wives to operate in her kitchen. Both these
people are “Diamonds” in our eyes and no doubt an integral part of
your hosting business. You have a great team of two right here.
We appreciate not worrying about our laundry ironing etcetera.
The vehicle and driver supplied with our deal was an integral part
of our stay as it enabled us to sit back and relax and enjoy the
”traffic chaos” but also realise the special part of balinese culture
of patience and respect for others on the road. It is fantastic to
see a busy culture operating so efficiently.
During this stay here our family was scattered between Caangu,
Semenyak and RamaRama. We invited them up for the day for lunch and
relaxation. They now realise that “RamaRama” is the place to stay.
Some even enjoyed the last couple of days with us as they had to move
out of their villas before their departure.
great stay had by all…charliet

  39. Lovely staff, great for families

We rented this villa because we had 4 families come together from my husband’s immediate family. It was much better priced than booking hotels, much more spacious, better value & good for young children. We had an infant as well.
We picked this villa as it was close to airport so accessible immediately from airport. It has a great view, not direct sea views but views of Jimbaran
It’s off a dirt road with small clusters of villas so a little isolated & quiet but very close to Jimbaran beach
The house is well kept with large comfortable rooms & several bathrooms. 4 of the bedrooms share 2 bathrooms & one bedroom is a separate granny-flat near car porch
The highlight was the the location, convenient yet isolated, the wonderful staff, ease & space for families
Dewa&Dayu are husband & wife team. They are lovely & kind people. Dayu is a very good cook & will buy all your provisions & cook whatever you want to eat. We has breakfasts there every day & most dinners (lots of bbq’ed seafood…beats the killer prices at Jimbaran beach!!)
The pool was lovely & the kids loved it. Both Dayu&Dewa love kids so lots of cuddling involved too!
It’s about 30 mins drive to kuta/seminyak. But who wants to go there when you can relax here?!?!

  40. “Superb and Elegant House, Amazing Views, Fantastic Service”

7 friends and I stayed at this villa for four nights in October 2012. From start to finish our time at the villa was luxurious, comfortable and great fun.

The villa is a real hidden away area which means you are certainly out of the hustle and bustle which is tourist Bali. The area contains other luxurious villas and therefore allows a unique form of tranquility.

The villa has 5 bedrooms ( four are queen size beds)- all which a good size and containing an ensuite. The living areas are of great comfort ,including nice lounges and an entertainment package on the first floor ( even a theater screen for movie nights!). The pool are spa area offers an amazing view over Bali (including the ocean, airport and the surrounding area) and I think i’ll never forget the first afternoon sitting in the pool, sipping a cold beer and gazing over the amazing view.

I think the highlight of the villa is the included staff- a fantastic and generous couple who were a pleasure to meet. The woman takes care of cooking- she can cook pretty much anything (she cooked me a three-course meal for my birthday including delicious spaghetti bolognase!). It was also so nice to wake up to her bacon and eggs, pancakes and local tropical fruit! All you have to do is give her money for groceries and she does the rest! This lady also takes care of cleaning, everyday keeping the villa in an immaculate condition!

Her husband is the villa’s driver, and will drive you around Bali to locations as needed. The villa contains a book with suggestions for hidden special beaches, top tourist sites and local restaurants (yet with the included cook you don’t need it!

I can recommend this villa enough, at $400 a night it’s an absolute steal (split among 8 it’s a lot cheaper than most hotels), you certainly save through the included cook and driver. Had a fantastic time and this will certainly be my first port of call when I’m back in Bali. I’ll just have to now persuade 7 friends to come back with me!

  41. Perfection
The property is about a 30 min drive out of Kuta but when you have a driver this is awesome as you are away from all the hassles.Diu and Dewa are great and you will not need to go out for dinner as you will not get food anywhere else in Bali. Perfect meals and all is cleaned up after you so you can kick back and relax.Diu did all our washing dried and folded and they both kept the villa spotless Dewa will drive you anywhere you want and is very good at getting you to your destination just give him some money for food and drinks and he will stay with the car all day and get you back at your time no pressure. The villa has spectacular views over Bali and is very spacious not like when you book a hotel you only get the 1 room here you get a whole house and it worked out cheaper when sharing with family and friends. We will be back and will never stay in a hotel again. Look after Diu and Dewa as they will look after you like you are royalty.Thank you Vila Rama Rama for an UN forgettable holiday.

  42. Great staff and good value
Everything from the moment we stepped off out of the airport until we returned was well taken care of by the wonderful staff of Villa Rama Rama (Dewa and Diu). The villa was big and spacious equipped with a nice infinity pool and daybed in the back. The spa villa with 2 beds was convenient for calling in the masseuses at ~$10USD/hr (great way to start or finish off the day).

Diu’s cooking was something we looked forward to, better than any restaurants we tried outside. She has an amazing way of knowing exactly when we were hungry. Dewa knew all the places we needed to get to and if he didn’t, he made sure he made all the calls so we could arrive seamlessly.

The location was perfect for us as we were attending a wedding in Uluwatu which is only 10 minutes away. Seminyak was about 30 mins drive and the closest beach about 10 minutes drive. It took us just over an hour to get to Ubud which is definitely do-able for a day trip.

As I mentioned, the villa is great value for what it offers. It lacks some of the finer details of staying at a resort such as hairdryers, designer toiletries, etc. The cleaning was sufficient, but understandably the space is large and every corner cannot be spotless. But I cannot repeat enough times that Dewa and Diu outshine any of those things (plus they would have run out in a second to buy them for us if we needed).

All in all we were very happy with the stay and would recommend to others.

  43. Most beautiful days of my life
In fact a beautiful villa ,a lot of privacy and it’s good for large families, The staff are very kind in dealing and ethics it was the most beautiful moments of my life and my family that I will not ever forget.

  44. A return from Bali after 10 glorious days – thank you to you Pet
Our family holiday at Villa Rama Rama was superb. A dream come true for me, to see my children and our spouses and grandchildren become aware of how beautiful Bali is on so many levels; to spend luxurious time together with all our needs very well met.

The house, the surroundings, the excursions to many of the places you recommended were all great experiences; but over and above them all was the wonderful service that Dewa and Diu gave to us. They spoilt us all with their many kindnesses and sensitivity to our individual and group needs. Diu is a wonderful cook and Dewa a great driver and both of them fonts of valuable information as well as providers of great laughs.

So thanks again for all your suggestions and support and providing such a great holiday home.
Kind regards,

  45. “Just Perfect! I want to be back there!”
This is such a wonderful haven. You have found it, stop searching.
Dewa and Diu (the staff) are amazing! They will look after you and your family!
We spent a glorious 10 days there as a chance to spend time with my sister, her partner and young son who live in London. There were 11 of us and plenty of space to be together but also to retreat.
I have such fabulous memories of the home that Villa Rama Rama was for us.

  46. Perfect
My partner, my mother and I had the absolute pleasure of Villa Rama Rama for 8 glorious nights. We had 7 children with us, aged 7-16yrs. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the property for any group configuration. Highlights were the staff- Dewa and Dui were brilliant in ensuring we enjoyed our stay, transport was no problem and the meals were beyond delicious! We only ate out once.
The view of the rest of the island, the volcano, the lights, the stars… The villa was perfectly maintained, clean, spacious and equipt with everything we needed. The Rock Bar is a must for quiet sunset drinks. I have enjoyed Bali before, but Rama Rama easily surpassed everything i have experienced. Thankyou 🙂 We will be returning and hope you are not booked out!

  47. Truly Home away from Home
It was our dear family friend Eunice and her family who roped my family of four to join her on this fantastic Bali trip. It was our second trip to the isles of the Gods. My wife and I honeymooned there 10 years ago!

In all, there were 9 adults and 4 hyper kids and the villa accomodated everyone very comfortably. Superstars of the villa, Dewa and ayu made us feel right at home from the moment we stepped into the villa.

The villa’s view is nothing short of breathtaking, you get to see Mount agung and Mount Batur and also the Indian Ocean. The pool is just a hit with us all with the weather being tropical. I managed to get a nice tan and the kids just love the pool though the rough surface does make for some blistered young fingers.

The ride to the villa could be wild and not for the faint of heart as it involves some seriously narrow unpaved roads but Dewa masterfully weaved in and out without so much of a wink and he can get you to Kuta in a jiffy. In fact he gets us everywhere in a jiffy.

We wake up every morning pampered and made full use of the spa. The property is really well maintained and it gives one the impression that it is somebody’s well cherished home and you are the guest of honor. The rooms are spacious and the housekeepers kept it clean at all times. Air conditioned too.

At night, there was a selection of movies that will cater to everyone and Transformers 3 and Rise of the Planet of the apes were awesome on big screen ( I mean projector big). The sound system is equally awesome.

This place is highly recommended. We got to do some seriousty typical things to do in Bali like sunset watching in Ku De Ta and also the uber awesome Rock Bar.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable stay for us all and it was with a lot of sadness that we had to leave it all so soon.

Melanie, Elisha, Gabriel, Ian, Nara, Jason, Uncle Lim, Aunt Sybil, Eugene, Eunice, Roy, Lydia and yours truly Lawrence

  48. 3 years in a row!
We have been to Villa Rama Rama for three years in a row..and we love it! Diu and Dewar are the most amazing staff who looked after us beautifully. Our children always have an absolute ball and as parents, we enjoy a truly relaxing and restful break. The pool is great fun and the rest of the villa has always accommodated us and our family/friends more then adequately. Our daily massages in the spa room downstairs are heavenly, and its great not having to go anywhere if we don’t want to! The food that Diu cooks is out of this world.. Why eat out? We didn’t! We look forward to our next visit with great excitement!

  49. Christmas and New Year 2012 were fabulous

    Hello Peter

At last we have settled back in Darwin enough to email you about our stay at Villa Rama Rama. It was a raging success.

Thank you so much for all your advice, none of it was exaggerated, and the family had a fantastic time during our 12 days in Bali.
Everything worked exactly as it was supposed to, and apart from a minor power blackout, which provided the group with opportunity to break out the candles the services were excellent.
Dewa and Diu are amazing and we can understand why you consider them “part of the family”. By the time we left Diu was in tears as she had fallen in love with the kids, she cooked the best meals that we had in Bali. Dewa is a brilliant driver, quite aggressive, which thrilled our girls, but never did we feel apprehensive even in the most appalling traffic chaos along the airport bypass road when being overtaken by police escorts etc. I don’t know what he felt like but to us he was all peace and calm. And they were always both all smiles. I enclose the thank you card and a group shot for the record.

New Years Eve was as you described, “ballistic” would be no exaggeration and we are all glad that we stayed through as it gave us a change to do things with some leisure, Rock Bar and all.

Once again thank you and best wishes for the future.

    Bob & Andrea and “party”.

  50. Idyllic Rama Rama
My partner, my mother and I had the absolute pleasure of Villa Rama Rama for 8 glorious nights. We had 7 children with us, aged 7-16yrs. 51. Bali spring break 2011
The kids and I had a wonderful time. The staff is extraordinary. Well worth the money.

  52. Sensational vacation
Villa Rama Rama takes your breathe away!! It is very spacious with all the essentials and even more. Then walking about the Villa taking in the views, it is simply spectacular.

The villa is situated in a perfect location, being minutes from beaches, golf courses and great dinning. While the staff cater to all your needs whether you just stay in and have a massage, having an authentic balinese meal, or heading to the world famous beaches and many other attractions. The staff definitely make your stay easy.

Surfing locations are a short dive with Balangan is only 5minutes away, while Padang Padang 10-15minutes and Uluwatu 15-20minutes.

I found my stay very relaxing and I would recommend it to all. I look forward to my next trip and staying at Villa Rama Rama again.

  53. Second Time around!
Villa Rama Rama provided a perfect place for our family holiday this year in Feb/March. We were there last year also and found it so great, that we were eager to return! It is a wonderful place to stay with children and Dayu and Dewar (the staff) made our stay so enjoyable – they just could not put a foot wrong – so huge thanks to both of them.

We look forward to our next visit with great excitement.

  54. Holiday at Villa Rama Rama
My family and I went on holiday to Villa Rama Rama for 10 days and it met all expectations and more! The Villa was very clean and spacious and facilities were excellent. It is in a secure area and with a short drive you can be in the hustle and bustle of local towns and villages. The locals are very friendly and there are plenty of upmarket bars and restaurants to wet the appetite!
The live in staff at Villa Rama Rama make the holiday worthwhile and they are there to make sure your stay is a thoroughly enjoyable one. We decided to eat in on a few occassions and the cooking was excellent.
All in all the villa is fantastic and I would recommend a visit. There is plenty to see and do and with tourist information in the villa you’ll be sure to find something that would suit everyone.

  55. Champagne living!
Thankyou So much for a fantastic stay at Villa Rama Rama,in Bali.

The standard, quality of this villa is just as it says in the ad,the views are amazing, you can see the ocean, and mountains 360 degrees.

The accommodation is beautifully fitted out with air-con units in all the bedrooms and work ice cold.
The pool and Jacuzzi are just the job,and perfect even for that late night swim!.

Great place for families,we have 3 children, youngest 9,oldest 14 and they didnt want to leave.

The location is private and secluded away from all the hustle and bustle that Bali has to offer but all easily accesible by either car, bike or taxi.

The staff look after your every whim, cooking some fantastic dishes from freshly prepared produce for just a few pounds,no need to worry about your washing, its all taken care of.

An excellent family holiday or just as suitable for a group of friends or a couple wanting that something special.

    Excellent value for money.

Already booked to return this year, the owner very accomodating and easy to talk to,i would highly reccommend this villa, one of the bestweve been to yet,
Many Thanks ,cant wait to be back !

  56. Stunning! – We want more
This place has got to be one of best we’ve ever stayed at. And we travel a lot! Stunning views, peaceful and relaxing environment, lovely comfortable accommodation, the food is sumptuous and the service is brilliant! Without a doubt this was a 10 out of 10 experience for us and we’ll be back for more so long as we can get in.

  57. Great family holiday

This villa was fantastic. Diu+Dewar (the staff) were wonderful – such lovely people and nothing was too much trouble for either of them. We would recommend this villa for a relaxing, fully equipped holiday where all you have to do is bring your suitcase! Try the Rock Bar for an amazing view!

  58. Truly Amazing Experience
We stayed at Villa Rama Rama in May 2008 for 1 week. We had been married in Bali 5 years earlier and wanted somewhere special to celebrate and Rama Rama surpassed our expectations. There were just the two of us and the villa is huge and beautifully designed, we really rattled around the place. The location is a little out of the way but perfect for some R&R and with the driver and car thrown in it was easy to get out and about at anytime, day or night. The staff were superb and we loved them, the food cooked at the villa was gorgeous and they were always on hand to assist but never intrusive. Peter, the owner was absolutely amazing. We wanted to organise a feast and traditional Balinese band for the night of our Anniversary, the evening was fantastic and one I shall never forget. Peter had organised a 15 piece band plus Balinese dancers, the 8 course dinner we had was chosen by ourselves, cooked and presented by the staff and whilst we were out during the day had decorated the pool and bale. The food was delcious, the service 2nd to none. I would highly recommend this villa and would not hesitate in returning.
    Thanks Peter.

Please contact the owner directly if you would like to get in touch. I have lots of photos.

  59. Location, location, location!

Our family – Mum and Dad and two grown-up children (24 and 23) have just enjoyed a fantastic week at the Villa Rama Rama, celebrating our Silver Wedding Anniversary. The location is breath-taking, and just as the description says, if not better.Accommodation was outstanding– all the beds were very comfortable, lovely bedlinen, excellent a/cs, although the sheer size of the master bedroom makes it not as easy to cool as the lower rooms.Bathrooms had toiletries and plenty of towels. The corner baths looked very inviting, but the practical side of me resisted as the thought of all that water needed to fill them went against the “green” sensitivities!

The staff are as good as suggested- we had several delicious Balinese meals made, all the laundry done, we were driven wherever and whenever we wanted, and the villa was kept clean and well-maintained.
There is a folder with descriptive leaflets on local attractions, and a very helpful personal guide which we used a lot, and were not disappointed.Beware eating at the Four Seasons hotel though- a two course lunch for 4 – and we are talking beer and pizzas, not lobster and champagne- cost over £200, whereas Diu (the female half of the staff) was shopping for us and preparing dinner of fresh spicy prawns, curried chicken, noodles and vegetables, and rice, for about £17-£20. There were lots of other restaurants within a short driving distance e.g. seafood on the beach at sunset (fabulous!) and a very reasonable Italian- though the menu description and what actually arrived were not too similar! The red house wine was undrinkable, better to stick to the beer.

Excursions- the children went to a suggested beach and found a mere handful of other people on a beautiful stretch of clean sand; they hired surfboards and thoroughly enjoyed it. Dewa the driver took them and brought them back, all very relaxed. They also went white water-rafting and said it was excellent, especially seeing the Balinese countryside and the river. We had pre-booked an overnight trip to Java to see sunrise over the Borobodur Temple at Yogyakarta and this was absolutely magical-even the non-historians amongst us found it fascinating. We had an elephant ride there as well, yet it was very un-touristy despite sounding to the contrary.

I would certainly recommend this property.
Just a note for parents of youngsters- the pool is gorgeous, but there’s no shallow end.
